News:

Membership is required to practice and use club equipment. Individual membership is $15 per year and family membership is $25 per year.  Membership is necessary to take a class. SCA membership is $10. Greetings to all fencers who attended the Kent practice at BEFC, Events are changing quickly for our fight practice. The Boeing Kent Activity Center is now closed. Boeing no longer supports clubs by providing leased space. All clubs had to move out of the building. The Boeing Employee's Fencing Club (BEFC) was given ~25 days notice to move out. BEFC decided to move to the SeaTac Community Center (STCC) for the following reasons: STCC has a large enough space available now, monthly cost worked out to be within our ability to meet and there is secured storage for some of our equipment. Start date is Wednesday, October 7th from 7-9 PM. To the best of my understanding with STCC participation requires the following: Everyone registers or checks in at the front desk when you arrive (even if you are already registered) . NO non paying visitors (including children) will be allowed in class areas. Teachers are not visitors, but will be expected to teach a class to qualify. Unfortunately the free space is not currently available in the location that works best for the Boeing Employee's Fencing Club. We are open to suggestions that would improve conditions for our participants. There will be open fencing time after the classes which is included in the class fee. Drop in participants can come and fence from 7-9 PM. Diana will run quick tournaments for 12th Night tune-up after class each night concluding December 23rd (plan on doing this between 8-9 PM after class). Cost: Fees include: Classes: There will be classes run for the first 30 minutes at 7 PM each night. If you are late you will miss the class but may participate in the open fencing time until 9 PM. Note: No class fees will be reimbursed if you are late or miss a night that you have not stated on your registration form. Showers (you bring your own towel and soaps) Lockers: While you are there lockers (you bring lock and you must vacate lockers by closing each night). Fee options: The nightly STCC "Drop-in" fee is $6 per night (works out to $72 per quarter if you are there every Wednesday). The best option is to sign up for the class which is $42 from October 7th to December 23rd, 2009 "A one time deal!". This works out to 12 nights at $3.50 per night. This can be pro-rated if you know the dates you will not be attending. These dates will have to be listed on your registration form. The quarterly class fee goes up in January to $50 per quarter (works out to $4.16 per night) or you can choose $20 per month for the class (works out to $60 per quarter or $5 per night). This works out to be the least expensive class you can take at STCC (per their fee policy). The Sport Fencing class is $50 per month.
